The candidate should possess Bachelors Degree in Law or an M.B.A or a Masters Degree in Social Sciences, preferably with 5 years of relevant work experience of social mobilization at the grass root. Proficiency in English language and computer skills is essential. Excellent communication skills.



Supporting pro-poor governance for legal empowerment of the poor (Pro-GOLE) (2011-2013) is an initiative undertaken by the UNDP aimed at increasing the legal awareness of the disadvantaged and marginalized sections of society. The project supports protecting and advancing the legal rights of marginalized and informal businesses. The right to do Business component will be viewed from the standpoint of the demand and supply side distinctively, legal services outreach will be extended to marginalized/informal businesses and, marginalized businesses will be mobilized to access legal/business services.

Supporting pro-poor governance for Legal Empowerment of the Poor (Right to do business – Pillar 4) intends to hire Provincial Coordinators. The Provincial Coordinator, under the supervision and coordination of National Project Director, National Project Manager and SMEDA Regional Legal Services Officers, will be performing the following tasks and responsibilities.

  • Coordinate project studies/surveys and take charge for active implementation of project activities in the identified regions.
  • Manage and conduct workshops/awareness programs/seminars in accordance with the activity plans.
  • Identify, assess and coordinate with relevant regional/local stakeholders and hold periodic dialogues for enhanced outreach and communication in coordination with SMEDA Regional Legal Officers.
  • Coordinate with the SMEDA Regional Legal Officers in improving interface at the community level with reference to key legal empowerment issues as identified in the activity plans.
  • Monitor and report to the Program Officer any new ideas/interventions come across during field activities that are ancillary/relevant to the project objectives.
  • Provide accounts and administration support with respect to field activities in the respective regions.
  • To perform any other duties as may be required to perform with reference to the project objectives.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
