The incumbent should possess at least 3-5 years relevant experience preferably with UN or international agencies. He/She must have necessary knowledge, skills and expertise to undertake activities related to media and governance.


Description (TORs)

The objective of this assignment is to assist the Focal Consultant on Media and Governance to develop and implement a media and governance strategy for Media and Governance Cell of the National Reconstruction Bureau.  The Specialist would be required to undertake the following assignments:

Develop and implement an effective communication and networking strategy for the promotion of NRB objectives among the governance stakeholder community, other international development organizations, the private sector and civil society.

Ensure forceful projection and marketing of these finalized product packages through utilization of the print and electronic media as the major promotional vehicle

Maximize stakeholder satisfaction by developing an effective networking structure for NRB to regularly obtain thorough feedback and recommendations in order to assess and undertake modifications required for continuous improvements.

Ensure that the NRB website presents real time information about activities and achievements by implementing a system of timely receipt of updated material form the respective NRB team members.

Represent NRB externally as appropriate and provide coordination within NRB for horizontal matters such as conferences, seminars, forums, missions and visits to NRB.

Provide advice on media contacts and set up programmes to meet press.

Promotion of NRB polices through participation of the common folk in different projects aimed at better understanding the process.

Provision of timely and accurate information to the public for actions and activities undertaken by the governmental institutions, citizens’ and NGOs including successful NRB initiatives.

Ensure appropriate level of communication with politicians at National Provincial and Local government level, NGOs and foreign diplomats so as help them understand NRB policies in a better way.

Establish and maintain close liaison with relevant public sector organizations, print and electronic media personnel and agencies for dissemination and circulation of NRB’s activities.

Maintain a record of all relevant news stories, audio and video films and photographs.

Supervision: The Specialist will report to the Focal Consultant Media and Governance Cell under the overall supervision of the Chairman, NRB.
