The Ministry of Women Development initiated the “Women Political School” project in October 2004. The aim of the project is to deliver a holistic and integrated capacity development programme for women councillors, provide adequate and reliable support networks and systems for women participating in political processes and to build the institutional capacities of relevant training institutions, government departments and the civil society. The project will focus equally on all four provinces namely the North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab, as well as the Federally Administered Tribal and Northern Areas (FATA & FANA). UNDP & the Royal Norwegian government are strategic partners for this project.
The WPS project requires the following professional services to be performed by the selected Consultant:
Mapping of all material, for e.g., curriculum, brochures and posters, which have been developed over the years for the training of women councillors.
The training need assessment, which is to be conducted by another consultant, will enrich the curriculum. The consolidation of earlier material and TNA produced will result in a draft curriculum.
Subsequent to the mapping and compilation of material, the training curriculum will receive inputs of the training needs assessment. Relevant NGO’s experts from the Women studies departments, NIPAs/ RDA’s and local government experts will be involved in revising and enriching the curriculum. The consultant will conduct the pilot testing of the curriculum before finalizing the curriculum.
The consultant will serve as a resource to the committee to this training review committee to revise the curriculum in line with the changes proposed.
Share draft with the curriculum committee and have it approved for pilot testing with women counsellors.
Prepare general sensitivity manual for Bureaucrats, Nazims, Male Counsellors and staff of relevant line agencies/district departments.
