At least 3-5 years work experience with a reputed multinational or local company in administration and security. Experience with a multinational company would however be preferred, while UN system experience / military experience in the officer rank would also be considered an asset.


Terms of Reference

Advise the AFSCO and the ASMT on all UN security matters. Analyze crime trends, security trends, social/economic/ political as well as ethnic/religious developments and prepare substantive briefing and reports for AFSCO, FSCO, and the Area Security Management Team.

Collect data through English and non-English languages local media and contacts/liaison with the civil administration, police, army, and civil society etc., in order to provide assessments and analysis on long term security trends and advance warning on rapidly evolving security incidents.

Establish and maintain effective and ongoing liaison with Civil authorities, police, army, UN designated Security Company, AFSCO, Area Security Coordinators, the Security Focal Points and UN Security Wardens to ensure practical measures taken to protect UN lives and property.

Prepare and update annexes of the UN Security Plan, evacuation routes and all other sections in Regional Security Plans with particular reference to the changing local conditions and national staff security.

Preparation of WSRs, QIRs, ECS and other reports and analysis to assist AFSCO, FSCO and others concerned through ongoing updates and future likely trends.

Managing and processing all regional security clearance work of all visitors and missions for the Region in consultation with the AFSCO and the FSCO. Providing security briefing to all the missions and visitors.

Prepare minutes of the ASMT meeting and Wardens’ meetings, reports on field visits, security incidents involving UN Offices, staff and dependents, etc.

Develop and conduct periodic training exercises for national security focal points and different categories of national staff, as well as provide training modules in security briefing/training for international staff on national trends and conditions.

Coordination with the Security Company for provision of efficient and effective security guard services to all the UN clients within the Region. Monitoring their service in light of the complaints received and resolving these through investigation and meetings.

Manage the Regional security clearance in consultation with the AFSCO/ASC/Alt. ASC under intimation to the FSCO. Advise out-posted UN Agencies on appropriate security arrangement in conjunction with Security Contractors

MOSS/Security Audit and other security related persistent advise and instructions as per UNSECOORD policy guidelines.
