2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of governance projects. Prior UNDP work experience is essential.

Description:
 

Under the guidance and direct supervision of the ARR(G), the Programme Analyst is responsible for management of assigned portfolio within the UNDP governance programme. The Programme Analyst analyzes political, social and economic trends and supports formulation, management and evaluation of programme activities within governance portfolio.
The Programme Analyst guides programme support staff and coordinates activities with national projects counterparts. The Programme Analyst works in close collaboration with the operations team, programme staff in other UN Agencies, UNDP HQs staff and Government officials, technical advisors and experts, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UNDP programme implementation. Programme analyst will be responsible for the following:
• Management of the CO programme in assigned Governance areas;
• Design and formulation of CO programme in Governance area of responsibility, translating UNDP’s priorities into local interventions;
• Coordination of programme implementation with the executing agencies;
• Assurance of project activities, including review of quarterly work plan and progress reports, budget revisions, project monitoring etc.;
• Initiation of a new projects on Legal Empowerment of the Poor and Support to Parliament, presentation of the project to PAC, determination of required revisions; coordination of the mandatory and budget re-phasing exercises;
• Analysis and research of information on donors, preparation of substantive briefs on possible areas of cooperation, identification of opportunities for initiation of new projects, active contribution to the overall office effort in resource mobilization;
• Provide governance related inputs in the design and operationalizational of relevant One UN programmes
