At least 7-10 years of relevant experience is required.

A good working knowledge of all the public and relevant departments working in energy /energy efficiency in different sectors. Should be able to coordinate well with the government and private stakeholders.

Should be able to manage the project independently by involving all the stakeholders and also defining roles and responsibilities. As this project would involve a range of diverse sectors, a quick decision making and strong technical knowledge is required.

The candidate should be a good team worker capable of handling the team dynamics and also resolving issues.

The work would involve meeting short deadlines so the capability of handling pressures calmly is required.



“Barrier removal to the cost effective development and implementation of energy efficiency standards and labeling project” is a regional project and it is managed at the regional level. This regional initiative is being implemented in Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam.

This project is aimed at reducing the green house gas emissions in the participating countries by removing barriers to effective Energy Standards and Labeling (ES&L) programmes and policies leading to significantly expanded ES&L programmes in the region, thereby reducing energy consumption in the participating countries. Currently, the project is looking for a Project Expert on a full time basis to run the day to day operations of the project under the supervision of National Project Director (NPD).

Roles and Responsibilities:

Operational management of the project outputs according to the project document and the and the procedures in the Project Cycle Operations Management;

Selection, recruitment and supervision of project administrative support staff; Initiation of mobilization of all project inputs in accordance with the relevant procedures in Project Cycle Operations Manual; authorization of expenditures for these inputs;

Preparation and revision of the project work plans, budgets and financial plans;

Organization and management of project activities according to the work plan in order to produce the outputs

Coordination and supervision of project technical personnel;

Timely preparation and submission of the Annual Project Reports (APR) and any other required progress reports and assurance that reports prepared by project personnel or participants are prepared as required;

Reporting to NPD on a regular basis

Managing consulting assignments and ensuring successful execution of work assignments

Assisting national team leader and national focal point in follow up of various national activities

Identification and resolution of implementation problems, with the assistance of NPD if necessary.
