The candidate should have at least two years of similar work experience in database administration. The candidate should have a good understanding of MIS, GIS. The candidate should have good communication skills and fluency in English, Urdu and preferably local languages.


A full time Database Administrator will be recruited to assist the MIS/GIS Specialist to manage and implement Participatory Information System (PIS) replication component of the project in an effective and efficient manner. The Database Administrator will work under the guidance of the MGS and Computer Programmer.
Duties and Responsibilities
  1. The Database Administrator will work closely with the MGS for the development of the District Management Information Centers and replication and utilization of GIS based PIS in the Project districts;
  2. The Database Administrator will facilitate the RPAs, CDS and District Governments in ensuring the proper utilization of PIS and DMICs in planning and monitoring of public services;
  3. The Database Administrator will prepare and maintain Database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary.
  4. He/She will work closely with the CDS, RPAs, HRD, Computer Programmers and District Governments for capacity building of DMIC’s staff and concerned government officials on operation, maintenance and utilization of PIS and DMICs;
  5. Maintain data standards, including data protection.
  6. Identify user roles within and outside the organization and controlling access permissions and privileges accordingly.
  7. Training users on how to use the database system.
  8. Meeting users' access requirements and resolving their problems.
  9. Ensuring data storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
  10. Communicate regularly with technical, applications, and operational staff, to ensure the database integrity and security.
  11. Monitor database activity and performance.
  12. Carry out day-to-day Database administration, integration, multi-tier configuration, security and the applications environment
  13. Commissioning and installing new applications
  14. The Database Administrator will monitor the field activities related to data collection and its dissemination among the stakeholders;
  15. The Database Administrator will  prepare and submit regular monitoring/progress reports to the MGS and RPA related to his/her component;

Any other work that may be assigned by the MGS or the Project Manager.
