Strong coordination and communication skills
Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, while including the ability to draft/edit a variety of reports and communications and to, articulate ideas in a clear, concise style.


Pakistan is one of the eight UN reform piloting countries. To implement the “Delivering as one” through one Program, one office/business practices, one Budget and one leader, the RC Office has been coordinating reform process and consultative workshops at national and provincial level. The RC office will continue to provide support to Provincial Coordination Team at provincial level and will continue to help in coordinating all the activities relating to the UN reform and Joint Programme. 
Provincial Coordination Officer will play an advisory and facilitating role at provincial level to ensure coherent effort for implementation of joint programme.
Key responsibilities:
• Represent Resident Coordinator’s office at provincial level
• Provide technical and secretarial support to Provincial Coordination Team ( PCT) including reform related activities.
• Facilitate coordination and meetings among UN agencies and with other stakeholders in implementation of UN reform and joint program.
• Collection, dissemination and consolidation of information on UN reform and Joint Programme 
• Coordinate with UN agencies implementing partners, government and CSOs on the behalf of PCT.
• Provide platform for coordination of UN operation.
• Coordinate with line ministries/departments at provincial and district level, on behalf of PCT, to elicit their cooperation in implementation of the joint program.
• Collect and consolidate progress reports of UN Joint Program projects
• Establish and maintain contacts with government officials, UN agencies, I/NGOs, diplomatic missions, donors, media etc, to ensure appropriate mechanisms to facilitate collaboration and exchange of information both in and out of the UN system for a effective UN operations.
• Act as convener of PCT meetings, on behalf of PCT chair and RC office
• ensure follow up of PCT meeting’s decision and action points
•  Maintain the institutional memory/continuity of provincial coordination efforts and PCT’s liaison with UNRCO. 
• Provide support to UN Agencies, I/NGOs and government during any disaster situation and establish clusters and coordination forums at provincial level. 

Core competencies required
• Sound knowledge of and exposure to a range of humanitarian assistance and development activities, strong analytical capacity and in particular the ability to analyze and articulate the area specific needs to coordinated UN operations; ability to identify issues and to use sound judgment in resolving a wide range of problems;
• Ability to work under pressure and limited, solid understanding of institutional mandates, national politics, policies and guidelines related to UN operations and of the government institutions.
