Minimum 10 years working experience with sustainable development and community development projects in the government, international organizations and/or NGOs.


The City Manager will be responsible for the daily running of the project office. S/he will plan, implement and evaluate project activities. S/he will perform the following functions

Ensure the overall quality of the development work undertaken by the project in each city.
Coordinate and supervise the work of the project at city offices and represent the project in all formal meetings.
Prepare, implement and follow up project work plans, including annualized targets, indicators for monitoring progress and data collection procedures.
Direct and oversee all technical, financial and progress report on monthly, quarterly and annual basis to be reported to Programme Manager.
Interact with donors and mobilize local funds.
Arrange high-level workshops/symposia and policy dialogues.
Arrange and monitor study-tours, evaluation missions and special studies to be conducted under the project. Review reports submitted by the consultants and integrate the findings in the programme activities.
Oversee project procurement of equipment and vehicles, and ensure their proper maintenance, project inventory and logbooks.
Personnel management.
Follow-up the programmes advocacy strategy.
Ensure timely delivery of inputs and outputs in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations
Impart training program, on the basis of careful assessments of training needs and demands among the project staff and stakeholders.
Develop and implement participator monitoring and evaluation mechanisms for the project.
Develop strategies papers and technological packages for various aspects which should be situation specific and adaptable by the communities.
Develop detailed plans to implement the project activities.
Advise PM/PD on technical issues of the subject for effective implementation of program activities.
Implement project activities, monitor rate of implementation and prepare progress reports on the subject for the consideration of senior program management and PSC.
Generate material for policy dialogue, media and advocacy.

YesMiscellaneous Excellent  Proven management skills, experience in development project budgets and financial reporting and practice from managing a multi-disciplinary teams as well as excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability in report writing in English and Urdu is required. An interest in participatory development methods and knowledge of monitoring and evaluation tools is desired. The candidate should posses the ability to think alternatively, work under pressure and meet strict time limits. S/he should have good interpersonal skills, ability to show cultural and gender sensitivity. Computer literacy in commonly used software is a must.
