The overall goal of the Womens Political School (WPS) project, in line with national objectives and international commitments, is that of working towards the attainment of gender equality by strengthening the capacity of women in political decision-making positions. The purpose of the project is to institutionalise the process of motivating, enabling and empowering women in public office so that their issues and concerns are raised in the policy agenda and are addressed through public policy. WPS outputs are as under;
A holistic and integrated capacity development programme for women councillors delivered;
Adequate and reliable support networks and systems for women participating in political processes facilitated and strengthened; and
Institutional capacities of relevant training organisations/institutes, governmental departments and civil society strengthened.  

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Provincial advisor is responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the project at the provincial levels. This includes;

Formulate annual work plans & annual budgets and submit according to the schedule for approval to the PRB

Prepare and implement quarterly operational plans according to the strategic framework

Liaise and coordinate project activities with national project team (MoWD)
Select, hire and supervise resource persons/short-term experts (as and when needed) to carry out the project work plan activities 

Manage the mobilization and provision on inputs of the projects and production of outputs, according to the project document and the procedures provided in the project cycle operations manual (PCOM).

Prepare and revise project work plans and budgets

Oversee all the financial and administrative aspects of the project, on a day-to-day basis, as specified in PCOM.

Facilitate and assist mid-term monitoring and evaluation missions

Prepare and submit quarterly progress reports and other required reporting material.   

 Organize an monitoring and evaluation system to ensure appropriate analysis and desired results are achieved

Provide administrative and logistical support to key meetings, which may be held during the life of the project


Provincial Technical Advisor will work with National Project Director
