Experience in working with ProFi is a distinct advantage;

Excellent oral and written skills in English and fluency in Urdu are essential;


1. Background:
Information about the related project:
The project focuses on providing expertise and technical support to the Government of Pakistan in its development of policy and programmes against organized crime in its various forms including the trafficking of illicit drugs. The project includes the technical supervision of and provision of guidance for ongoing law enforcement projects and the development of new projects.
2. Reporting:
The Project Development Associate will report directly to the Law Enforcement & Crime Prevention Adviser. 
3. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Development Associate will provide critical support services to the Law Enforcement & Crime Prevention Adviser for the development of new projects and implementation of project activities. In this regard s/he will undertake the following tasks:
  • Undertake substantive writing for new projects and prepare detailed project budgets;
  • Carry-out research to identify new project ideas and related outputs/activities in line with UNODC’s mandate;
  • Assist in organizing and holding workshops / seminars and other meetings as appropriate;
  • Attend inter-agency and other meetings with and on behalf of the Law Enforcement & Crime Prevention Adviser as and when required;
  • Maintain documentation of project activities, correspondence and contact details of partners;
  • Maintain a MS Project supported project management system with details of project activities and submit monthly reports;
  • Provide feedback in terms of underlining pragmatic deliverables related to project activities especially regarding new projects;
  • Undertake report and substantive writing within project under implementation;
  • Maintain an overview of the financial status of projects in order to initiate required corrective action;
  • Conduct budget revisions and project revisions of the project as and when required
  • Organize or assist with logistical arrangements; e.g. travel arrangements, procurement;
  • Organizing appointments;
  • On behalf of the Law Enforcement & Crime Prevention Adviser, interact with relevant stakeholders to further project objectives;
  • Take minutes of meetings and write meeting reports;
  • Perform any project related tasks that may not have been foreseen in this job description and might be assigned by the Law Enforcement & Crime Prevention Adviser on as needed basis;  

4. Competencies:

  • Office management and record keeping skills;
  • Knowledge of and skills in logistics management, e.g. travel, workshop organization, communications, purchase of equipment etc;
  • Good interpersonal communication skills;
  • Positive attitude with a mind set of delivering services in a most professional manner;
  • Excellent time management and stress resistance;
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently and with minimum supervision while being a strong team player;
  • Willing to work flexible working hours and in a difficult environment;
