5 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.


 Organizational Context:

The UN Reform Pilot in Pakistan aims at “Delivering as One” through one Program, one office/business practices, one Budget and one leader. The RC Office has been supporting the RC and UNCT in achieving those goals. With the planning phase approaching its end, and with the UNCT embarking on the implementation stage, the RC Office will continue to provide its support to the RC and UNCT to address the evolving challenges.

The Senior Coordination Officer of the RC Office plays a central role in this process. S/he will be responsible for the quality and timely delivery of RCO’s advisory, technical and logistics support to the RC and UNCT.

Summary of Key Functions:
A.      As Advisor
·               Provide on-going policy and technical advice to the RC and UNCT in general, and in relation to UN reform issues in particular.
·               Ensuring adequate and timely provision of advisory, technical and logistical support to TWGs, JPs and other bodies of the pilot.
·               Support RC and UNCT in maintaining productive relations with the national and international partners.
·               Support RC in relations with key governmental authorities and counterparts. 
·               Maintain relation with DGO, and with UN agencies at the HQ level, as required, in relation to the One UN pilot and other RCO matters.
B.      As Manager
·         Management of RCO plans and follow-up on their implementation.
·         Management of RCO national staff, consultants and specialists towards effective delivery.
·         Management of RCO annual operational budget.
·         Management of the requests against the Transformation Fund and supervision of the RCO reporting in that regard. 
·         Management of the requests against the Pakistan One Fund and supervision of the RCO reporting in that regard.
·         Supervision of the coordination of activities at provincial level through the Provincial Coordination Teams.
·         Support monitoring and evaluation of initiatives under the One Program in close cooperation with the UN Participating Agencies, key non-UN partners and the related committees.
·         Management of the reports to the various stakeholders in a proactive manner.
·         Management of all RC Office communication.
·         Supervision and management of RCO’s humanitarian relief coordination work in close cooperation with UN/OCHA, clusters, UN agencies, NDMA, ERRA, plus the various national and international humanitarian relief partners.
·         Performing relevant additional duties as required by RC.
     C     Knowledge Management. Lessons learned Reporting, Communications
  • Participates in global UN practice networks related to UN Coordination to draw best practices and lessons from other offices and to share experiences from Pakistan.
D   Coordination of inter-unit communication and tasks
  • Prepares documents and correspondences related to the overall programme to be shared with donors and other partners.
  • Maintains technical level communications with respective units and persons.
  • Supports implementation of UN communication priorities and maintains relationship with the Media.

The key results have an impact on the success of One UN Pilot as well as the as the coordinated activities of the UN System in Pakistan.
