Experience:

1. Minimum five years of documented experience in networking, troubleshooting, fixing and repairing computers installed within medium to large organizations.
2. Must posses Microsoft certification for MCSE
3. Must possess CompTIA certification for A+, Network+ or other equivalent networking
4. Strong problem identifying and solving skills, in person and over the telephone.
5. Documented experience in setting up and maintaining Windows based networks and operating systems.
6. Knowledge of different types of computer hardware and experience in installing programs.
7. Must possess knowledge of Server Security
8. Good interpersonal, social and communication skills
9. Experience in conducting presentations as a trainer/instructor.
10. Experience in MS Project is preferred
11. Experience in working with international organizations / UN is an advantage.

Description:
 

Under the overall supervision of the Crime Prevention/Law Enforcement Adviser and directly reporting to the Project Officer for the Computer Based Training (CBT) Project, provide timely support in IT matters.

More specifically, the incumbent will: 

Assist the Project Officer in ensuring timely delivery of UNODC technical project inputs

Install software on computers, setup CBT-training courses and train CBT site-managers on technical aspects relevant to the operation of training sites.

Review and maintain network logging and monitoring (i.e. server performance monitors); 

Gather and research Information, stay current with technology changes, applicable systems, industry trends and developments especially in networking infrastructure and new (wireless networking) trends.

Identify, troubleshoot and fix computer and network problems

Service computers and networks

Be available as a resource person for IT related questions

Contribute to the development / implementation of computerized work processes

Perform other duties as may be required
