Under the overall supervision of the Drugs & HIV Adviser, Assistant Project Officer assist in the timely delivery of the project inputs as outlined in the project documents in line with UN rules and regulations.
§ More specifically, the incumbent will:
§ For the project TD/PAK/J85 HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care for female injecting drug users and female prisoners in Pakistan
§ Familiarize him/herself with UNODC HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care for female injecting drug users and female prisoners in Pakistan project and develop a comprehensive appreciation of the conditions and inputs required for successful implementation of the project.
§ Support Drugs & HIV Adviser in collecting material for training, organize trainings and liaise with various government departments and civil society organization participating in the project.
For the Drugs & HIV situation in Pakistan
§ Familiarize himself/herself with the UNODC supported Drug-related HIV prevention projects in Pakistan and in the region and develop a comprehensive appreciation of the conditions and inputs required for successful implementation of the project.
§ Assist the Drugs & HIV Adviser in undertaking needs assessments to identify training and other requirements.
§ Assist in ensuring full understanding on the part of Ministry of Narcotics Control, Anti Narcotics Force, National and Provincial HIV/AIDS Control program and Prison Authorities of the projects objectives and strategy and of counterpart obligations and inputs.
§ Assist the Drugs & HIV Adviser in ensuring timely delivery of all UNODC project inputs and coordinate counterpart agencies’ inputs to ensure project implementation proceeds as planned.
§ Assist the Drugs & HIV Adviser in preparing regular and timely progress reports on all project activities including project expenditure.
§ Assist the Drugs & HIV Adviser in making preparations for mid-term review and for project evaluation.
§ Provide administrative, financial, accounting and reporting services, including administrative arrangements for project travel, meetings and training events, and the procurement of equipment in accordance with UN rules and regulations.
§ Perform such other duties as may be required.
