The candidate should have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience. He/She should have the capacity to manage/share work load of IT Associate. Experience in developing software using modern tools to handle training related data helping to conduct analysis based on multiple indicators. Capacity to manage an efficient Local and Wide Area Network He/she should have excellent communication skills and be fluent in English and Urdu.

Description:
 

Background:
After successful completion of the Project “Support to National Elections in Pakistan”, The Election Commission of Pakistan and several donors expressed a strong interest in continued support to electoral assistance and reforms. The project is being implemented in close collaboration with ECP and will promote strategic partnership between ECP & CSOs for strengthening electoral processes in Pakistan. The intended outcome of the project is legal and institutional frameworks that enable free, fair, transparent and credible elections at all levels in place.

Job Description:
The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Project Manager to carry out the following specific tasks while assisting IT Associate:

Server Hardware & Software – Provide assistance in maintaining server hardware and software systems. Provide input in procurement of hardware and software keeping economies of scale and new trends/technologies in the mind;

Documentation – Assistance with the creation, format and maintenance of network and information-systems documentation;

Network Security – Provide assistance to pro-actively administrate the security of server systems, messaging, mail server, firewalls and hosted systems against any kind of threats which can destroy the data;

Monitoring & Logging – Review and maintain network logging and monitoring (i.e. server performance monitors);

Training and Facilitation – Assist in Transfer of necessary knowledge to the project staff to increase the broader understanding of Information Technologies potential;

Assist in handling all Internet connectivity issues with ISP to provide 24*7*365 hours internet access and availability to project staff;

Assist IT Associate to plan and administer the deployment of software products in a heterogeneous environment with an objective for standardization of all software and hardware which can provide the best solutions to streamline the internal operations;

Proven ability to work in a high pressure environment with multiple tasks, changing priorities, and changing resources;

Sufficient exposure in Microsoft Windows (XP Pro, 2000/2003 Server), Intel based desktops, laptops hardware and computer peripherals like printers, plotters and photo copiers;

Additional technical or non-technical responsibilities and duties assigned by Management within IT/IS domains.
