Terms of Reference Centre for Research on Poverty Reduction and Income Distribution (CRPRID) The Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development Facility (PAF) is a project funded by UNDP which started its operation from January 2002 for 5 years. The main component of the project is to support the Centre for Research on Poverty Reduction and Income Distribution (CRPRID) established in the Planning Commission of the Government of Pakistan as an independent research institution. The IT Assistant will work under the direct supervision of Director and Project Coordinator of the Project. The candidate must be a graduate in computer sciences from a reputable local/foreign university with at least three years experience in IT. He/she will examine the new equipment, when received, for their accuracy in terms of specifications, accessories, condition, and functioning, and install the computers and other relevant equipment as and when required. If technically and logistically possible provide Internet access. If required, he/she will assist his/her supervisor in assessing IT training needs of professional staff of CRPRID. Perform other duties as required. Responsibilities: Organize and maintain (including frequent updating) website of CRPRID. Keep track of the Contents of the Website for their validity and will feedback to the supervisor if a modification/updation is required. Establishment and maintenance of Local Area Network for CRPRID Overall responsible for designing, installing, implementing and maintaining a workable information system for CRPRID. IT Assistant will suggest the Supervisor for the right software for Project Monitoring and Evaluation and will fully implement and shall provide training to the end-users for the implantation of the software. Assist Director, Project Coordinator, Senior Specialists and other professional staff in CRPRID in processing and disseminating information. Provide technical expertise on procurement and O&M of computers and related equipment. Assist in preparation and processing of reports and studies. Conduct training to newly joined staff in CRPRID’s computer systems including emails. Provide all other IT support to all project staff. Suggest on the latest technologies and cost cutting methods to implement. Establish linkages with other institutions for IT support to CRPRID.
