A background of 8-10 years in the area of policy analysis, programme planning and management and a significant understanding of the national HIV/AIDS situation and the social and economic dimensions of HIV/AIDS


Under the supervision of the UCC and within the framework of the CRD Strategic Objectives and the three ones; the National Programme Officers Principal Functions would be as underProvide advice to UCC in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Joint UN Programme for HIV/AIDS and other activities in the UNAIDS/Pakistan. Preparation of briefs on projects, activities and upcoming events. Keep UCC informed of developments in the health and other sectors in order to facilitate the UCCs work; perform other duties as required Provide technical support to the UNAIDS Theme Group & Technical Working Group, advise in the preparation and monitoring of the UN Implementation Support Programme. Provide input to the Country profile as a resource book.Ensure supervisory responsibility of the UNAIDS National professional & General Staff in their official activities and consultants as the first line supervisor and of UNAIDS office administration.Represent UNAIDS at various National & International Fora.Provide technical advice for UNAIDS funded OPEC and PAF projects to the implementing agencies for implementation, monitoring and backstopping functions. Also check and maintain financial discipline of project/programme implementation.Conduct field visits to monitor intervention projects, evaluate progress, analyze information to identify existing capacity and need for strengthening public/private sector capacity and provide inputs to the programme.Give technical advice to the Bilateral donors and International NGOs in promoting integration and mainstreaming of AIDS prevention activities in their respective country programmes and to track, monitor and evaluate the country responses.Develop and implement activities for strengthening national capacity of Government / NGOs/ PLWHA Associations for proposal development, National guidelines, modules and education material, training programmes, workshops, seminars, national and international conferences.Liaise with CCM Secretariat to contribute to the CCM processes and provide technical support to the National AIDS Control Programme as Principal Recipient for Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB & Malaria and for the monitoring of the projects specifically of HIV/AIDS.Provide technical support to the National and Regional initiatives on HIV/AIDS and mobility, human and drug trafficking, gender, Human Rights and other issues. The post requires interaction with high rank officials of the NACP, Ministry/Department of Health, Labour, Education, Youth, Women & Defense, parliamentarians, Donors and other key agencies.Women are highly encouraged to apply
