o Relevant 5-7 years experience in security, preferably in the military or police context or related field of work. Experience in a UN/international related environment is a plus.
o Good relations and influence with national security organisations is highly desirable.


III. Functions / Key Results Expected
1.   Provides assistance to the FSA/CO SFP in the implementation of the UNDP security plan, which will be based on the country security plan. Specific functions include the maintaining staff lists, administration of the Country Office warden plan and assist in dealing with crisis situations.
2.   Assists in the maintenance and monitoring of the Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS) and Minimum Operational Residential Security Standards (MORSS) compliance of UNDP staff, offices, equipment and other areas. Identify the Emergency Communication Equipment needs.
3.   Assists in the preparation of UNDP security reports such as the Incident Reports and Weekly Reports.
4.      Provides general administrative assistance to the FSA/CO SFP:
§   Maintains routine and confidential correspondence files/documents;
§   Arranges appointments, receives visitors, places and screens telephone calls and answers queries with discretion, and takes minutes and/or notes at meetings.
5. Provides substantive support to the FSA/CO SFP in collecting and updating information with regards to security issues and communicating them to the FSA or CO SFP.
6. Provides assistance in the conduct and follow up of investigations and incidents affecting UNDP staffs and offices.
7. Assists the FSA/CO SFP to conduct security risk assessments, evaluations and surveys, and MOSS compliance for UNDP and advise the FSA/CO SFP on security measures for UNDP offices, project, and project personnel staff, as well as the latest trends and threats to staff safety and security.
8. Supporting the FSA/CO SFP to coordinate briefings and training courses on security issues/awareness and preparedness and where appropriate provide orientation to newly assigned UNDP staff members.
9. Represents UNDP at security meetings, as appropriate, in the absence of FSA/CO SFP.
10. Monitor movement of CO staff members on local missions and Accompany UNDP staff members on visits and missions as required.
11. In cooperation with UNDP Transport, ensure that designated field vehicles are fully MOSS compliant, equipped and serviceable.
12. Coordinate the allocation of radio call signs to UNDP staff and in conjunction with the radio room carry out regular radio checks.
13. Performs other security-related tasks assigned by the FSA/CO SFP

Must Degree Degree Level Country Description
 Secondary EducationMatriculation / O levels Secondary School certificate and applicable security and/or military training, Advanced university degree in Political Science or equivalent is desirable but not a requirement.
