3 to 4 years of progressively responsible programme experience is required at the national or international level. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems. Experience in routine office management and administration i.e. filling system, dispatch, office record keeping and finance related matters.
Minimum two years of directly related professional experience. Preference will be given to the candidates who have background knowledge of Emergency Response and Disaster Management.
Computer literacy; demonstrated Word and Excel skills; database skills desirable.
Fluency in oral and written English.
Excellent inter-personal communication and strong written and verbal English skills.
Excellent communication skills in English ands Urdu with good report writing and presentation skills are essential.


Under the overall supervision of supervision of National Disaster Response Advisor, Crisis prevention and recovery Unit, and direct supervision of the Project Manager the Programme Associate will perform the following tasks:

• Assist in preparing project implementation plan of Creation of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Teams in Pakistan and any other emergency response capacity building programs to be referred as projects hereon.
• Assist in the formulating the project implementation plans with national and international partners i.e. city governments of Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi or any other national partner.
• Support the activities for the mobilization of national resources, mainly training facilities and human resource, for project implementation as per the project document.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for meeting, to DRR staff in Islamabad or other places.
• Report on quarterly basis or when ever required the project progress to the Project Manager.
• Compile and disseminate information / documents on project activities as required by the Project Manager.
• Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of project activities as per the prescribed framework.
• Undertake duty travel to attend meetings and to project sites as and when required or asked by the project Manager.
• Any other duty as assigned by Project Manager USAR and National Disaster Response Advisor.
