Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Sr. National Programme Officer, UNAIDS, the Programme Associate shall provide assistance in execution of activities in the UNAIDS Programme Unit. The incumbent shall support the design, planning and management of the UN Reforms process by managing data and facilitating HIV Joint UN programme planning process of the Joint UN Team on AIDS.
The Programme Associate shall work in close liaison with RCO team of specialists and lead UN Agencies for managing joint programme process-related issues and information delivery.
Functions / Key Results Expected
1 Provides support for planning, administration and implementation of Joint UN programme strategies: focusing on the achievement of following results:
Presentation of thoroughly researched information for preparation of Joint activities with other UN partners, effective application of RBM tools and development of management targets (BSC). Development of mechanisms to track use of RBM.
Presentation of information/reports for identification of areas for support and interventions.
Provide support Implementation of the CO partnerships and preparation of reports.
Provide support for coordination with UN partners for timely sharing of relevant information/documents and follow up
2 Provide support for management of the UN Reforms Process focusing on the achievement of the following results:
Preparation of project documents’ drafts, workplans, budgets, proposals on implementation arrangements concerning UN Reform
Tracking use of financial resources under Transformation and MDG funds.
Follow up on performance indicators/success criteria, targets and milestones, preparation of reports.
Analysis of the situation in programme, identification of operational and financial problems.
3 Provides Technical support to Health and Population Thematic Working Group (Joint United Nations Team on AIDS) focusing on the following:
Prepare and organize meetings related to the Joint Programme Planning process.
Track and reporting on the meetings.
4 Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in UNAIDS focusing on achievement of the following results:
Timely sharing of information and progress on UN Reforms with UNAIDS staff
Synthesis of lessons learnt and best practices in programme.
