Background:

Recognizing the need for a comprehensive system for developing, managing and utilizing environmental information for informed decision making, the Ministry of Environment has included “Establishment of Environmental Information Management System” which is being implemented with the assistance of UNDP and donor agencies to support realization of the National Environmental Action Plan (NEAP). The project has been designed to address issues relating to availability of timely and accurate environmental information in Pakistan. The NEIMS when implemented will facilitate informed decision making Environmental Management Information System for different areas of environment. EMIS will be a very powerful resource in planning different development projects of Pakistan and will provide help to different departments including Forests, Agriculture, Communication, Climate, Town Planning, and Industries etc.

Duties and Responsibilities
ý       Ensure provision of reliable and secure driving services by a) driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items and b) meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities arrangement, when required..
ý       Ensure cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs, provision of inputs to preparation of the vehicle maintenance plans and reports.
ý       Ensure proper day-to-day maintenance and log of the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, timely changes of oil, check of tires, brakes, car washing, etc.
ý       Highly gender sensitive
ý       Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, necessary spare parts.
ý       Ensure that all immediate actions required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accidents
 
ý       Log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, greasing etc.
