Description:
 

The project ‘Working Towards Achieving the National and International Commitments on Gender and Poverty Issues’ aim is to strengthen the capacity of MOWD develop and implement policies and programme on women empowerment and institute a system of monitoring in compliance with international and national commitments.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Catalyze partnerships and enable networking amongst stakeholders on gender issues in Pakistan to promote knowledge networking and sharing of information to ensure efficient resource utilization.
2. Mobilize young professionals from academic institutions to assist the Ministry of Women Development to conduct research, coordination and bring in new ideas for knowledge management and expertise.
3. Assist the Planning expert in the overall implementation of the programme including technical and administrative matters
4. Monitor and document the implementation of the MOWD programme utilizing viable indicators and lessons learnt/good practices for organizational learning.
5. Control/manage expenditures maintain and update records of financial expenditures by monitoring the operational and financial aspects of the project within the project framework.
6. Prepare reports on progress in project implementation for all donors in accordance with donor specific requirements and in consultation
7. Assist MOWD in dealing with all matters relating to women’s rights and issues
8. To ensure flow of information on projects and project related activities to all stakeholders
9. To keep liaison with National Commission on Status of Women, NGO’s and other civil society organizations on all matters relating to rights of women.
10. To carry out any other duties assigned by the Advisor to the Prime Minister/Minister incharge, Secretary and/or Additional Secretary, MOWD
11. Comment on project documents as requested by Ministries/departments and international agencies.
12. Assist MOWD in negotiations with the donors for project funding
13. Oversee financial donor assistance and commitments
14. To participate in steering committee meetings or any other meetings with donor agencies as and when required.
15. Assist MOWD to develop proposals for submission to donor agencies
