Experience:

The candidate should have 8-10 years of working experience in donor assisted projects or development agencies. Should be able to demonstrate significant experience of leading multi disciplinary teams in implementation, capacity building, planning and research.

Skills:Familiarity with UNDP rules with respect to national execution modality will be an added advantage. Should be fluent in English with excellent report writing skills, familiarity with the culture, languages and institutions of NWFP. Evidence of developing creative and innovative responses to the challenges of governance, particularly devolution, would be an asset. Operational familiarity with one or more of the following would be considered very useful: change management, innovative IT solutions, pro-poor and gender-sensitive interventions, and monitoring and evaluation.

BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE:

NWFP-Essential Institutional Reforms Operationalisation Programme (EIROP-II) that aims at facilitating process of good governance, institutional reforms, gender sensitive, participatory approaches and capacity building of public sector and civil society. Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the position of National Project Manager, NWFP EIROP II. Female candidates are encouraged to apply. Government officials are also eligible to apply for the position.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the NPD, he/she will be responsible for operational management, project work planning, budgets, financial plans and hiring process as per UNDP procedures.

He/she will be responsible to organize and manage project activities according to the work plan for the production of project outputs.

Co-ordinate and supervise project technical personnel.

Prepare and submit the Annual Project Report (APR) and any other required progress reports and ensure that reports are prepared by project personnel as required.

Identify and resolve any implementation problem with the guidance/consultation of NPD, if necessary.

Co-ordinate and organize review meetings and meetings of the PRB and PSC etc.

Develop effective linkages with other programs of the similar nature in the Province.

Any other assignment by NPD.


Duration of the assignment:

The duration of the recruitment is initially for a period of 10 months.
