The NRM Specialist will closely work with local communities, line departments and NGOs and will spend some 50% of his/her time in the field.  Under the overall guidance of the Project Director and direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Media and Advocacy Specialist will perform the following tasks:

Scope of Work:

Plan, organise and implement the operation plan for natural resources including crops, forestry, horticulture etc with concerned communities and line agencies.

As a member of the Programme Team, contribute to formulating work plan for the sector within the framework of participatory development process and in accordance with the approved Project Document and PC-I of the programme.

Develop methodologies and techniques for assisting farmers with planning and execution of crop – forestry and natural resources production that will help improve rural livelihood.

Develop, monitor and analyze on-farm research and the development of recommendations that can be adopted by the farmers.

Develop NRM packages with the organised communities.

Successfully implement sector interventions.

Review sector interventions and implementation methodologies and suggest specific recommendation for their improvement.

Train the staff and the Activists / specialist in community in NRM sector for the transfer of technology.

Develop reporting and monitoring tools (e.g. monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual reports) for NRM packages.
Develop linkages of the rural communities with the Line agencies and research institutions.

Consult with the provincial forest department, wildlife department and agriculture department to collect information on the natural resource base of the area, and use the information while planning for the activities proposed under the project.

Generate monthly and quarterly reports, reflecting on the direction of sector interventions, pace of implementation, qualitative and quantitative aspects of interventions and achievement of stated targets and outcomes.
Carry out any other special assignment given by the Project Director and Project Manager
