Familiarity with local languages and customs and tradition will be an advantage have an additional qualification related to GIS

Under the overall guidance of the Project Director and direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will have the following scope of work.

Scope of Work:

Contribute in formulating work plan for the sector within the framework of participatory development process and in accordance with the approved Project Document and PC-I of the programme.

Develop a baseline of economic/natural resource base of the select districts. The baseline shall provide basis for assessing/analyzing impact of programme interventions in those districts.
Examine the findings and proposals arising out of the participatory community development activities and information on ongoing projects from the agencies concerned And prepare policy brief for the concerned Sector Specialist for incorporating those proposals in the sector interventions.
Design formats for monitoring monthly progress of programme interventions, analyze all such report for qualitative and quantitative impact and generate report on the direction, pace and quality of programme interventions and suggest specific recommendations, as and when required.

Train relevant government officers to the take over the facilities on completion of the programme.

Develop an effective Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) System for the Programme and suitable indicators for the system.

Review sector interventions and implementation methodologies and suggest specific recommendation for their improvement.

Design and develop data collection instruments and reporting formats based on identified indicators for M&E of the Programme activities vis-à-vis programme objectives and train Social Mobilizers on using such instruments for data collection.

Analyze M&E data, develop analytical reports particularly highlighting outputs / outcomes / impacts of Programme interventions and propose actions for any needed improvement to project management.

Carry out any other assignment that may be assigned by the Project Manager / UNDP

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual evaluation reports about the programme activities undertaken.
