5 to 6 years of progressively responsible administrative or programme experience is required at the national or international level. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and advance knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.


Organizational Context:

Under the overall guidance of the Chief, Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Unit and direct supervisor of designated supervisor if applicable, the Programme Management Analyst ensures effective management of the UNDP programmes by entering and managing data and supporting programme implementation consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.

The Programme Management Analyst works in close collaboration with the programme and projects’ staff in the CO and UNDP HQs as required for resolving complex finance-related issues and exchange of information.

1. Preparation of monthly reports

Prepare monthly financial commitment / delivery status reports based on shadow budgets, ledgers and pipeline build up to be disbursed to senior management and Program Officers.

2. To update Action Plans and ensure follow-up actions

Follow up with Program staff to keep updated the program expenditures, Evaluation Plan, Development Division Work Plans, MYFF Reports, Balance Scorecard and audit recommendations follow up action plans.

Prepare a checklist of management action plans of all the programs schedules in the Program Cycle; and follow up with Program Officers for their input / action.

3. Assistance on CEDAR and Audit

Assist Program staff  to convert the projects on CEDAR methodology.

Assist in the organization of annual audit of projects

4. Provision of guidance to Management and NEX staff on the policies, rules and             regulations

Provide guidance on program policies, procedures and guidelines and interpret their use to senior management, Program Officers and Project Managers.

Provide guidance on UNDP program Policies and Procedures to visiting project formulation missions; and review drafts documents to ensure that they are prepared according to the format as well as established rules and regulations of UNDP.

5. Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing

Synthesis of lessons learnt and best practices in programme.

Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.

6. Effective Record Management

Maintain file records in hard as well as soft form.
