Over 10 years of social/economic research, management, coordination, procurement, etc. in national or international institutions of repute. Demonstrated experience in implementing field based projects in collaboration with local partners and effective monitoring of activities of implementing partners.

Description:
 

Overall Objectives

BEGIN ER aims to enable LGIs to function again quickly and have technical capacities to plan and implement disaster recovery activities in equitable, transparent and accountable ways. The project would engage all partners including the affected citizens and communities, especially the most vulnerable and inaccessible, in designing implementing and monitoring of recovery and rehabilitation initiatives. The project will deliver two outputs:

Capacity restoration and development of local government institutions;

Transparency and accountability, comprising

Access to Development Assistance Database (DAD), and training and dissemination of reports on relief and reconstruction at local levels

Community based information and citizens feedback mechanism system

Terms of Reference

The Project Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Assistant Resident Representative, Governance Unit, UNDP-Pakistan as per the following Terms of Reference:

Responsible for the overall results and performance of the BEGIN ER project according to an agreed work plan. The PC will work in close collaboration with concerned officials and partners at the provincial and local levels to plan and implement the project.

Specific responsibilities include implementation planning, mobilizing project inputs, and monitoring work of implementing partners and timely reporting of project progress.

The PC will coordinate with UNDP Operation Division for procurement, contracting and financial management related to the project such as preparation TORs for sub-contracts, procurement documents etc.

Act as a liaison with national partners, implementation partners, UNDP and other donors

Undertake field visits for onsite verification of work and ensuring required standards;

Supervise team of project staff. Provide guidance and oversight to field operation
