Description (Duties and Responsibilities):
â€˘ Developing Communications Strategy and supporting its implementation:
o Review project initiative and interventions from advocacy and communications perspective and developing communications strategy in consultations with the National Project Director, Component Manager, staff and other stakeholders. Implement communication strategy with assistance of project staff Implementing Partners- PRGMEA.
o Liaise with Country Office staff, particularly with communications Unit, and with Implementing to develop partnership with individuals, groups, public and private organizations and garment/clothing, industry whose support is necessary for achievement of advocacy and communications activities and ensure sharing and dissemination of relevant information to UNDP country office and all other concerned, in effective manner and on regular basis.
â€˘ Enhanced presence of PEPGI project in media:
o Cultivate a strong working relationship with a wide range of media organizations (local and foreign newspapers, radio, TV networks, web portals etc.) to ensure timely effective coverage of projects event initiative.
o Plan creative media activities to capitalize on the important occasions e.g. workshops, seminars etc. Arrange field visits of media groups to successful Satellite Training Units (STUs) and project sites when GEN PROM had accomplished results.
o Synthesize results of PEPGI work to make it understandable to senior policy makers and common people. Translate these results into advocacy and communications friendly information and project it appropriate channels and sources.
â€˘ Development of effective tools for media coverage:
o Prepare a comprehensive list of all media options in Pakistan with details on profile and contacts information.
o Set up a photo library with a collection of representative pictures of PEPGI work and upload on project website.
â€˘ Content Management of PEPGI Website:
o Review PEPGI website contents on regular basis and update them including NEW, Announcements on regular basis.
o Facilitate the designing, writing, printing, publishing, and disseminating the newsletter and other related information and knowledge pertinent to the garment / clothing sector.
o Disseminate the Newsletter over the project website.
o Lead development of an information and knowledge portal on â€śGender and Pakistanâ€™s Garment Industriesâ€ť consultation with stakeholders.
â€˘ Designing and Publishing of awareness raising and advocacy material:
o Facilitate in designing and printing of communication, advocacy & awareness raising material gender mainstreaming in the T&C industry.
o Disseminate the material to all concerned stakeholders.
â€˘ Facilitation in Research and knowledge Management Work:
o Identify areas of potential research cooperation by consulting all stakeholders, project beneficiary advocate with, and facilitate the research institution, associations and industry, particularly for conduct social audit studies, writing bilateral trade negotiation papers, and other activities as outlined in the plan.
o Take a lead in designing knowledge products and documenting best practices and success stories of PEPGI project.
o Maintain a database / record of trainees and employment opportunities in the sector, to be published PEPGI Opportunities bulletin.
o Compile and distribute PEPGI Opportunities bulletin to relevant stakeholders and particularly to associations countrywide;
o Ensure proper management of all relevant key knowledge documents produced by internationals & national research & policy institutions;
â€˘ Reporting Documentation and Miscellaneous.
o Facilitate in preparing quarterly and annual progress reports;
o Arrange meetings, internal external, and perform liaison duties with other units;
o Work closely with the Communication and Advocacy Specialist based in the Punjab PMU, and the Country Office;
o Perform any other duties as required.
He/She will work with and report to the Provincial Component Manager.
