• Previous experience of UNDP funded projects will be an added advantage


Description (Duties and Responsibilities): The Productive Use of Renewable Energy Project aims at removing barriers to the adoption of renewable energy technologies (RETs) by promoting productive uses of energy in one of Pakistan’s remotest areas: the Gilgit Baltistan and District of Chitral of KP province. The project will create new local jobs and sources of income. This will be achieved through the promotion of mini/micro hydropower (MHP) that is linked to income generation and productivity enhancement that adds value to local produce and resources. The sustainability of the productive uses will be enhanced through natural resource management approaches where projects are developed, by providing the necessary technical and institutional support for implementation at the district and the community level, and by supporting a national and local multi-stakeholder dialogue for long-term collaboration. National Project Coordinator (NPC) will be based at Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) Islamabad for execution of project in Chitral and Gilgit Baltistan areas. The NPC will work under the direct supervision of the National Project Director (NPD) and perform following duties. • Day to day management of the project in the light of project document and also the prescribed UNDP procedures. • Assistance in selection, recruitment and supervision of project administrative and support staff • Preparation and revision of the project work plans, budgets and financial plans • Organization and management of project activities according to work plan to achieve the project objectives • Coordination and supervision of project technical personnel • Work in close collaboration with NPD and UNDP Country office for the tasks mentioned above • Timely preparation and submission of project progress and financial reports to the UNDP country office • Visit the project sites from time to time and update the project plans accordingly • Follow-up with the audit of the project • Coordinate with the relevant government and civil society organizations in relation to the project activities. • Any other task assigned from time to time by NPD

Must Degree Degree Level Country Description
 MasterMasters Degree • Master’s Degree in Engineering strong experience in productive uses of renewable energy / Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) development.
