Duration of Assignment: Two Months SSA

UNDP in Pakistan has been engaged in enhancing the capacity of the ECP for a number of years, first under a Preparatory Assistance project and subsequently under the Supporting Democratic Electoral Processes in Pakistan (SDEPP) project. EAD has been closely involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of these activities. While the SDEPP deals with long-term capacity development, the ECP has recently requested additional support to the next local government elections, due to start in August 2005. Specifically, the ECP requested UNDP support in establishing a framework through which donor support could be channeled in a structured manner and highlighted a number of key areas where support was deemed necessary.

Further to the recommendations of the Needs Assessment Mission of EAD, UNDP responded positively to the request of the ECP for additional support. For this purpose, UNDP has engaged the services of an International Election Expert to assist in designing and implementing proposed UNDP support to the local government elections.
Objectives of the assignment:
The primary objective of the assignment is to assist International Expert on Local Government Component in his day to day work in the preparation / implementation of the proposal on the structuring and organization of Local Government Support for the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Duties and Responsibilities

In close relation with the LGE expert and with the illustrator, the graphic designer needs to produce the final art of all the ECP training and educational materials. And to follow up the production of the materials. Main activities include:

To produce the layout of the training handbooks.

To produce the final art of all the (A0) flipcharts.

To produce the final art of the (AO) posters.

To produce the final art of the (A4) handouts and other educational materials.

To produce the guidelines and quality requirements for the printing.

To follow up the production of the materials. 


The Graphic Designer will work with and report to International Expert on Local Government Component and Assistant National Project Manager SDEPP Phase II
